Opening Reception: First Friday, June 7th, 5-9pm
First Friday, July 5th, 5-9pm
June 7th - July 6th, 2013
Join us on the evening of June 7th for the Opening of Close to the Edge, a new series of mixed media paintings by Patrick Zoller. Zoller combines processes utilized by Abstract Expressionists, Color Field Painters, and Post-Painterly Abstractionists to create large-scale textural works that explore the entire surface of the picture plane. While focusing on the formal qualities of line, color, and texture; Zoller’s work comes across visceral and immediate, while simultaneously engrossing and contemplative.
Zoller studied with Jim Anderson, a New York Painter at the Ridgewood School of Art & Design in New Jersey. He also studied with Richard Pousette-Dart, (one of the founders of abstract expressionism) at the Art Students League in New York. Zoller has shown in galleries throughout Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Wyoming through a career spanning over 30 years.
